If you found your way to this thread, then you were either directed here by a helper or have come here through your search for a solution to the annoying pop ups or other things that malware cause. To be able to help you, we ask you to follow the steps listed below:
Register Yourself At HijackThis.de
To be able to receive help through our team and to post new topics / replies here, you will need to register yourself here. You can do this here: Forum rules / Registration. (you have to accept the forum rules to be able to proceed with the registration process). Afterwards you will be asked for some details that are necessary to register a user name for you and to be notified on replies to topics. Furthermore you are required to follow some more steps which are related to the Forum settings. Once you have completed the registration process, you will be able to follow the successive steps and post the results from them.
Should you already be registered, then you can move on to step 2.
Adjusting The Forum settings
To be able to receive notification of answers without having to login every day, make sure you have set the forum settings in the following manner:
You can now continue with other changes to your profile / forum settings. To proceed with this "quick start guide" you do not need to do anything else though.
- Click on "User CP"
- Click "Edit Options"
- Under "Messaging & Notification" >> "Default Thread Subscription Mode"
- Chose "Instant email notification"
Install And Run TM® HijackThis
Please navigate to the Trend Micro Site and search for the "Download HijackThis Installer." Save this version on your pc.After you have done this and started HijackThis, click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile" and post the resulting log as a reply in a new forum post.
- Double-click on "HJTInstall.exe" and follow the prompts to install HijackThis.
NB: Please only create a HijackThis log! Most of what is showing is harmless or even necessary. It is therefore important that you only "fix" things with HijackThis, when told / listed by a Team Member.
This is all that we need for now. In today's Malwareworld so many things change at such a fast rate that it is quite possible that we need you to run other programmes. We will however let you know when this is necessary.
Please be patient. These days many HijackThis logs are being posted and have to be answered. The helpers here all do this in their free time and are only able to do so many logs at one time.
